Website Accessibility Policy

Last Updated: August 2026

The City of Crystal Falls is committed to providing an accessible website and ensuring that all members of the community, including individuals with disabilities, have equal access to information, services, programs, and activities provided through the City’s website.

The City is continually working to improve the accessibility and usability of its website and to provide an inclusive online experience for everyone.

Our Commitment to Accessibility

The City of Crystal Falls is committed to making its website accessible to the widest possible audience. The City strives to conform its website and web content to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, which provide recognized standards for making websites accessible to people with disabilities.

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. As new content is added, existing content is updated, and technology changes, the City will continue working to identify and address accessibility barriers.

The City also recognizes that accessibility applies to more than the website itself. The City will make reasonable efforts to ensure that important information, documents, forms, and online services provided through the City’s website are accessible to individuals with disabilities.

Accessible Website Features

The City strives to provide website content that can be accessed using a variety of technologies and methods, including:

  • Keyboard navigation
  • Screen readers and other assistive technologies
  • Text resizing and browser zoom
  • Alternative text for meaningful images
  • Appropriate headings and page structure
  • Sufficient color contrast
  • Accessible forms and online services
  • Captions or other alternatives for applicable multimedia content
  • Accessible PDF and other downloadable documents when reasonably practicable

The City also works to ensure that links, buttons, navigation menus, forms, and other interactive elements are usable by individuals with disabilities.

Documents and PDF Files

The City provides a variety of documents through its website, including ordinances, meeting minutes, agendas, forms, reports, notices, and other public records.

The City is working to ensure that documents made available through the website are accessible. Some older documents may have been created before current accessibility standards were adopted and may not yet be fully accessible.

If you encounter an inaccessible document or are unable to access information contained in a document because of a disability, please contact the City using the information provided below. The City will make reasonable efforts to provide the information in an accessible format or otherwise provide effective access to the information.

Third-Party Content and Services

The City’s website may contain links to websites, applications, maps, payment systems, social media platforms, or other services operated by third parties.

Although the City cannot control the accessibility of websites and services operated by outside organizations, the City will make reasonable efforts to provide accessible alternatives when a third-party service prevents an individual with a disability from accessing important City information, services, programs, or activities.

Accessibility Feedback

The City welcomes feedback about the accessibility of its website.

If you experience difficulty accessing any information, document, form, feature, or service on the City’s website, please let us know. When reporting an accessibility issue, please provide as much information as possible, including:

  • The web page or document where you encountered the problem
  • A description of the accessibility barrier
  • The type of assistive technology or device being used, if applicable
  • Your preferred method of contact

The City will review accessibility concerns and make reasonable efforts to address identified barriers.
