Annual "Run/Walk Your Bass off" 10K.

The "Run Your Bass Off" 10K race and its shorter spin off, the "Half Bass" will be held on Sunday, in conjunction with the Annual Lions Club Bass Festival.  The two races will run simultaneously beginning at Runkle Lake Park at 9 a.m.  central time.  Registration begins at 8 a.m.

Those who wish to participate can register ahead of time or on the day of the race.  There is a registration fee of $13 ($2 discount to members of UPRRC).   Registration forms can be obtained from Melson's Copy Center, 1353 West US-2, Crystal Falls, MI 49920.

Runners come from all over the Midwest and beyond to participate and receive one of the unique T-shirts.  This year custom medals will be awarded.

Whether you are a serious runner or a casual runner you will enjoy this event.  It is well marked, furnished with a lot of water stops, ends with great refreshments, and is a wonderful family event.

The starting point of both races is at Runkle Lake Park on M-69, east of downtown Crystal Falls.  The races are sanctioned by the Upper Peninsula Road Runners Club (UPRRC).  The courses are part rural and residential with the longer course winding through rolling hills on a scenic route.

There are trophy awards, medallions, and prizes galore.  We have runners from 7 yrs. to 60+ yrs.  There is a Masters Division for male and female runners in both the 10K and Half Bass.  Organizers encourage participation, but if you do not run, come out and watch.

Don't forget to buy a Raffle Ticket - FIRST PRIZE $1,000.00!
